"Something's Up" In America's Big Berg
featuring
Selected Poems from The Alaska Mystery Collection

"You see, in this world there are two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig."
"You dig."
Spoken by Clint Eastwood, in "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly."
I've never seen this movie in its entirety, but I know it was popular. I was familiar with the theme music, as I heard it often when I was young. I saw a reference to this clip, a few months ago, and it was on my mind when I awakened this AM.

Greed is a common human trait, and I presumed the plot would have much to do with some form of cash, gold, or jewels.

Perhaps I'll watch the complete movie someday. Clint Eastwood is a remarkable actor.
I grew up in a more modern time than the setting of the movie, but the message received was just another version of the same general idea of who holds the power and control.
"He who has the gold makes the rules."
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_does_'He_who_has_the_gold_makes_the_rules'_mean
I have my own version of that saying, which is why I wrote this story. YAHOO message boards are a great public forum, and while there is much blather and bunk on them, I also find some interesting perspectives on stocks, and life in general. Some of those who post have outstanding senses of humor, and a few meanspirited folks drop by from time to time to ruin the party. (See the Bloviating thread below, from the YAHOO SPY Board)
I was posting regularly, but not so much the past few months; due to being busy with other tasks.
"She Who Has the "Goods" Makes the Rules."
I think it's well past time that: She Who Has the "Goods" Makes
The Rules. Any objections?
Right on. That is true and it will never change.never as long as we live.take care.
And who'd object to such trite garbage? Not you. Accept the truth.
I always do a double check, when I cross a street, or intersection.
I don't live in fear, and won't. There are Forces in the world which
are more powerful than I. However, we have not chosen to have
an actual game of Chess, nor any sort of "Mexican Standoff."
We have chosen to simply avoid each other. It has worked out
well; so to speak. I do dislike being Inconvenienced, and being
highly annoyed. But, there are lessons to be learned and nice
words and a small gift to a person who was Exceptional. I do
hope her brass takes note. If not, I do. And someday, I shall
either be a person who is hiring, or scouting for great employees.
And no, I won't tell you.

Silly you. It was a compliment. Bloviating/bloviation was a new
word for me when an acquaintance used it recently; I had to look
it up in the dictionary. So much crap on these boards, it was
refreshing to see something written above a 4th graders insults.

I like to read the writings of others, and Snuff Movies was a topic on the MB's one day, so I added my piece.
I recall another Thread, which is apparently no longer available, as Yahoo has switched up the MB format, and most of us complain, Loudly.

I didn't know such things existed, until I remembered, and
On the other hand, where was GOD when all this was going on?
Yes, it's why I'm no longer a Chatholic. Not that I ever felt like one.
It was parental pressure to be so.
I've always had an inquisitive mind, and was regularly reprimanded for asking too many questions, when I was young. When things didn't add up; I'd point it out. Much to the annoyance of many. People don't change, and I still have those traits.
My Mom would say to me at times: "There must be something in the water."
When I'd ask what she meant, as I didn't understand the meaning of her words; she'd usually repeat: "There must be something in the water."
Sometimes, my Grammy would say to me, "Don't Rock the Boat."
I always liked this song, and I noticed it's a man's voice telling the woman not to rock the boat. I've been divorced twice; I don't always listen to, or agree with a man who might be telling me what to do.

Sex, Drugs, Snuff, and Stuff
Blame it on the Russians!
Alaska is located between Russia and Canada, and officially became the 49th USA State on January 3, 1959. "Seward's Folly" was the nickname for the sale of Alaska by the Russians to the USA, back in 1867.
http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/sewards-folly
Due to the vast wealth of natural resources, I'm sure there's more than touch of Seller's Remorse by them.
Being detached physically from the rest of the USA, Alaska was a perfect place for running illegal activities, and having dirty deeds done dirt cheap. A small population to keep under control, and enough who wanted to "keep what they had," they'd assist in whatever way necessary to do so. Cooperation via coercion, and most played along. Because they learned very quickly what happened to those who didn't.

That kinda action has to be very well funded; not just a couple of local yokels with a few extra bucks.
I was born in Juneau, AK in 1964, and apparently some of these activies had been going for years, prior to my arrival on the scene.
The full spectrum of Child Pornography, Snuff Movies, Drugs, and experimentation on humans, were rumors I heard whispered about, by others in my town, even when I was just barely school age.
Sometimes I would see people who were either new to town, or were only there a short time, and never saw them again. Being quite young, I could tell by their faces and voices that they weren't like other folks I knew. The residents of both Juneau and Douglas back in the 1960's and 1970's were mostly a mix of Alaska Natives, some Philipinos, perhaps a few Hispanics, 2 Black familiies that I knew of, and the rest were White, who mainly spoke as my family did. Some locals had accents, but I'd always notice when I heard a new one.
Radial Keratotomy was apparently invented by a Russian, so I suppose the old saying of "Practice Makes Perfect," could be taken literally, and eyeballs were needed for practice; even if the subjects were too young to object.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radial_keratotomy
When I was about 19, my eye care professional asked me, during an exam, "When did you last have eye surgery?"
"I never have," I replied.
"You have scarring," he said.
I must have said something about always having poor eyesite, as does my older sister.
"Then we'll never speak of it again," he said.
I believe he died a few years ago, so that's another source that can't be tapped for verification, but I don't need it; not with so many other things falling into place. Clearly, all wasn't right in River City; or Juneau, AK.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Tlxr9vmv0A
At some point, could have even been months later, or longer, I asked my Mom about if I'd ever had eye surgery and for what reason?
She gave me a very strange look, and a tight lipped "Never."
I didn't think too much more about her reaction, as "heredatary" had been the answer for why my older sister and I had extremely poor eyesight, and those other family members and relatives who did, appeared to have lenses that were nothing like the "coke bottles" she and I wore.
Radial Keratotomy was what I believe he mentioned, and sorta fits in with the Russians or someone doing experiments on my eyes; maybe even well before it was an accepted practice, as it became in 1974.
Sex sells, and not just on TV. It's also a very lucrative trade, and a profession for some. I'm not completely opposed to folks above whatever is considered to be legal Adult age in their state or country being able to use their body to provide a service; after all, one uses their hands, bodies, and minds to style hair, cook food for sale, build housing, and write reports, etc.
I am opposed to having children or anyone who can't make a competent and informed choice, being forced into the sex trade, and suffering such abuse. According to the rumors, it was occurring in my little town; apparently some children and teens, and possibly adults were brought in from other towns and areas for these despicible purposes.
Hash and Heroin seemed to be the most common form of drugs whispered about, even by kids in the grade school I attended. That would have been the late 1960's and early 1970's. Not that they were using them, but clearly they knew of some who were, and who was distributing. When I was in Jr. High, pot was the popular choice for teens, and by the time I was in High School, cocaine was used frequently by teens to middle aged folks. There are no roads in or out of Juneau, so it all came in via some form of water or air transportation. Mules over the mountains wasn't possible, but creative ways of signaling drops were; odd flashing lights from local beaches, etc.
The classic song "Cocaine" by Eric Clapton was enjoyed even by those who didn't use the drug.

Snuff Movies, by defination, from Wikipedia, is: "A movie that shows the murder of a person or a group of people, for the entertainment of the audience."
http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snuff_movie
I don't know how any normal person could find such a horrible crime "entertaining," but it was said that such movies were filmed in Mt. Jumbo School, and possibly a few other locations around town, and distributed in South America. Hearing that level of specificity, I believe there's more than just hot air to those words.
Publishing this fact isn't going to bring any of them back, but it might open the door for some who know more, to share what they know about the who's and the where's.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V94pBlA4n7U
Mt. Jumbo was decommissioned as a school sometime in the late 50's or early 60's, but was used in the 60's and 70's at Halloween for the Lion's Club Ghost Walk Children's Party which my siblings and I looked forward to attending. The gym was used occasionally for other community events. For the last 20 years or so, the gym has been more actively used, and is under the City and Borough of Juneau Dept. of Parks and Recreation.
http://www.juneau.org/parkrec/gyms/gyms.php
Interestingly enough, I had a conversation very recently about Juneau, my life, and many of these strange and seeming unbelievable events and occurrences. He looked at me and said something to the effect of: "And you think it only happened there?"
It was the way he said those words, that leads me to believe that clearly he either suspected or had knowledge of such activities or the like, happening in other places, and in other USA States.
If such things were or possibly are occuring elsewhere, then we can't just point the finger at the Russians.
I'd occassionally hear the use of letters used by others in conversations way back then, but I didn't know what the acronyms were for. I don't recall hearing KGB specifically as the sponser for all of these sick shenanagins, but I'd say the forces were some sorta joint effort, and international in scope.
I think I've provided plenty of fuel here, in the pages of Frozen Fiefdom.
This ain't no Fire Drill, Baby.
