July 9, 2011. There's been a recent upswing in traffic to this site, especially from those readers in The Big Berg.
Some have noted that some of the content on this website is actual and/or factual, but I''ve stated that it's "a novel".
Everything from the Disclaimer statement and underneath that section are indeed fictional. The rest of the website is non fiction.
And as a writer once said to me: "A writer writes what he knows."
Feb. 8, 2010. More content to be added to the site later this week. I apologize for the delay, and thanks to those who have sent emails.
January 5, 2010. The headline from Reuters reads:

Having grown up in the small town of Douglas, Alaska, I experienced first hand countless tests, blasts, and what appeared to be "signals" of the Emergency Broadcast System." Don't recall hearing a peep or bleep during the 9/11 episode; before, during, or after, so why bother to make testing of a highly active EBS a news item now?
It's probably no surprise to any who know me as to why I named the radio and TV stations in this story as UWTF, and STFU. I am known for my highly sarcastic and dry sense of humor.
December 10, 2009. New addition under "Research Links,... section about an Alaska man convicted in 2008 of trafficking in humans and drugs. He apparently kept it local, and wasn't dragging his victims in from Russia or Canada.
December 8, 2009. "Ask and you shall receive." Holy Cow! Just like the good book states. Someone sent me an email about Project 112 and Project SHAD in Alaska during the 60's and 70's.

Bing, Google, etc. have more information.
On another topic, isn't it strange how when a "credible" person such as a commercial pilot, police officer, elected official, etc., claims to have seen something unusual, or abnormal, or perhaps corrupt or illegal; their stories are usually regarded as "unexplained", or "inconclusive". If some ordinary person makes the same statement about something they saw, heard, knew of, or experienced; the official investigation will determine that person to be "delusional", "known troublemaker", " he's talking out of his hat", or "it musta been the booze talkin'." I heard all of those phrases used by assorted folks in the small town I grew up in. I've found that when I ask questions that folks don't want to answer they either remain silent, fail to send a written reply, or use the phrase "I don't know." There's always the handy line that politicians and parents use: "I don't recall."
December 7, 2009. There's never just one Roach! And it's never too late for folks to speak up. Under "Research Links,..." section, I've added a link about how the Air Force used some Alaska Natives for experimental purposes back in the 1950's. Also a link about how children and others were subjected to medical experiments by various parties. Any information on other human experimental projects you Readers might be aware of which took place in Alaska or elsewhere, please email them to me. paula@runtararun.com
November 25, 2009. I watched on YouTube.com the following link to a very entertaining spy movie from the 1960's. Those who know me know that I watch little TV and fewer movies. Something has to grip me before I'll log time in front of it. The Multi-Trillion Dollar Heist that the US Taxpayer will have to pay for is in our near future. (just wait 'til all those fees, taxes, ObamaCare, and the Afghan War Tax hit your wallet) With the price of gold moving north at a rapid pace, to just under $1200 per ounce, "The Wrecking Crew" from 1968 popped up on my radar screen. It is the story of a billion dollar gold heist, featuring hot rods and hotter broads. While we are living in another asset bubble in the making, and the collapse of the USD, "Tulips for Two Thousand!" came to mind. Can't you see that Jeopardy Board? History repeats, circa 1635 or there abouts.

November 17, 2009. While cruising down Victory Blvd. this AM, I saw several folks standing on a corner holding large signs bearing the message along the lines of "The End Is Near", "Repent While There's Still Time", etc. I've never seen such a display here before, and as I have a clean soul and conscious, I took note and continued on my way. For those who have something to worried about, you might wanna Stop, Drop, and Pray. The Catholic Church I attended when I was young seemed to believe that GOD forgives everyone for everything, no matter what wrong was done, as long as one was truly sorry. Frankly, I'm not so sure that GOD would excuse any and all bad behavior, but it makes for a long line at the confessional. Good thing that the law sometimes takes a dim view of wrong doing; when they aren't busy lookin' the other way. Seems to be a lotta that happening recently, based on news stories and the "global financial crisis". New additions under "Words, Phrases, and Lines" section.
November 14, 2009. I recall Otis Redding singing over the airwaves. "Dock of the Bay". Does anyone else? Fabulous song, and hearing it over the years formed some of the content of this story.
November 13, 2009. Great to see an uptick on site traffic from the old hometown of Juneau, Alaska! Many of y'all never realized what a storyteller you had, right in your own backyard. Check back regularly for the additions to the story. I'm glad to see the local interest is warming up. And, by the way, does anyone have anything to add, that I might have missed? I read the local fish wrapper online from time to time, and the Obits seem to have many of the "Old Timers" listed over the last year or so. Reminds me of the old album cover by The Who, featuring an outhouse and several men standing around with the title of "Who's Next" ?

November 10, 2009. Some have asked to view my photo. I don't like being photographed but will put a current one up on this site within the next few weeks. As I have referred to myself in "Frozen Fiefdom", I'm still "not bad for an Old Broad."
November 9, 2009. A headline this morning caught my attention. No disrespect to the victims of these gruesome crimes; I simply noted how easily some folks accept any answer. Click on the link below:
Apparently, many folks are interested in reading about what was happening in the "Sodom and Gommorah Sausage Factory", and you won't be disappointed!
Years ago, I read the novel "Ghost Story" by Peter Straub. Part of that story relates to events which happened 50 years prior, and how some of the parties thought they would take their secrets to their graves. Fortunately, Life doesn't usually work that way; something is never a Secret if someone else knows. Available from Amazon or your local library. The old saying of "When Life gives you lemons, make lemonade" came to mind recently. I'm juicing them for every drop, and lovin' every moment. Recent small additions throughout the site.
November 3, 2009. I'm very grateful for all of the positive words and comments. Thank you, Readers! My sister Gail reminded me yesterday that it was the birthday of our older brother, which reminded me of something to work into this story. I think that the popular story "The Green Mile" was written and released in segments. I may follow suit, as sometimes the rewrites are better than the original. See new additions under "The Who,...", and "Words, Phrases,..."
October 27, 2009. Check the additions to "Words, Phrases,..." and "The Who, What..."
Thanks for the positive responses so far! I'm adding material as speedily as I can.
October 23, 2009. A few additions under "The Who, What...", "Research Links, ...", and "Words, Phrases,..." sections.
Right outta the gate and site traffic is rising! Folks have curious minds, enjoy a great teaser and a compelling story; many are eager to read "Run, Tara, Run!"
In broadcasting, such intros and drop offs are called "cliffhangers", or a "hook", I think.
Many thanks to Yahoo for the TA provided and the helpful emails for problems encountered.
The design layout seemed to catch the attention of some;"It's so You!" was one comment. I do have to agree.
